Ever since the release of the new iPhone 4, consumers have been encountering reception issues; such as dropped calls, and display issues. What will Apple decide to do?

There has been several videos, blogs, and concerned emails sent to Steve Jobs and Apple Inc., but is the consumer’s voice really heard? A few days after the iPhone4 was officially released, a concerned customer was asking Steve Jobs if there was any future plans for Apple to fix these reception problems. Jobs replied back with, “Just avoid holding it that way”. What way? How are you supposed to hold the phone? One dead giveaway that the iPhone 4 had reception problems during testing was the available “Bumper Case” that Apple was selling at the launch of the phone.

I truly believe that Apple knew about these previous issue and wanted to provide a quality case to avoid these issues from customers. The case is stylish, but is not the true reason behind it. There has been leaked Apple care documents explaining to the staff how to “deal” with customers when asking/confronting you about the iPhone4 reception problems. You can see this below:

As well as reception problems accruing at opening day, their were several ticked-off customers when Apple did not release the iPhone 4 in white, Black ONLY. Apple states that the new iPhone 4, in white, will be re-released in mid-July. No exact date. After researching several blogs, websites, videos, and emails, Apple has released a statement that the iPhone4 reception problems are not the antenna, but the software. Supposedly, Apple has slipped up on the reception “bars” ever since the 1st gen iPhone. Apple says they are in the process of fixing the bug and will re-realeas the latest iPhone software with the new, and improved, software to increase call quality and overall better reception. We will see…

I hope you have enjoyed this blog over the reception issues/White iPhone4. Feel free to comment below with your take on what Apple is doing or needs to do…Hopefully they will listen to thier customers…

This comes just in time for Christmas and the 2010 Olympic Winter Games being held in the Vancouver/Whistler area.

If this does happen, Canada will be the first country to have a that will have negotiated a “multi-carrier” deal with Apple.

Apple will likely release the “iPhone 4G” to Rogers, Fido, Bell and Telus, all at the same time.

Rogers/Fido began selling the iPhone in July 2008, and has sold more than 350,000.

In the lastest J.D. Power and Associates’ Wireless Consumer Satisfaction survey, the Apple iPhone came away with the top spot. The iPhone increased its position in both the consumer category and business category. This feat is surprising to some, for *battery life and AT&T’s service have both plauged the iPhone, so for it to win the top spot in the J.D. Power survey..that is none the less Beastly.

Now this is not the first time the iPhone has come away with #1, for the iPhone has been looking down at the opposition since 2008. This repeat award encourages me to get an iPhone more and more, for its just good press. It’s like opening up Urban Spoon and looking at two restaurants. One has horrible reviews and the other has amazing reviews…which will you go to?

Let’s break down some of the Facts:

“particularly well in ease of operation, operating system, features, and physical design.”-J.D. Power and Associate

Apple scored 803/1,000 in the Business Category and 811/1,000 in the Consumer Category.

Many factors determined the Score, and Battery Function only came up with 9%

One last note..Palm Pre was not in the top 3 on either of the surveys.

Apple TV is a great concept in theory. All of the music, TV shows, and movies that are downloaded on iTunes can be watched and listened to all from the comfort of your couch. Let’s be honest though, how many people actually have a want or need for an Apple TV? I would bet to say that not many people do. I believe that most people are like me, and mostly use iTunes for music, and download only a handful of movies and TV shows. I, like many others, do not need to listen to my music on my TV. Apple TV could be a must have product, if Apple added some must have features.

With the great success of the Apple App store, why not allow some of these apps to be used on your TV? The Apple TV could serve as an iPhone/iPod Touch docking station. The Apple TV could play any music, videos, and applications that were on the iPhone or iPod touch. I admit that not a lot of games would transition well from an iPhone onto the TV screen, but Apple TV specific applications could be made. Apple could make a wireless gaming remote, or even use the iPhone or iPod touch as the Apple TV’s gaming remote. Some might argue that an Apple TV app store would not do well, because there is not a lot of Apple TV owners, but that is because it still lacks those must have features.

The main focus of an Apple TV should be the TV part. Place a larger hard drive in the device, and give it the ability to record live TV. I have heard the argument that Apple will never give the Apple TV DVR capabilities because it competes with Apple’s own business of buying movies and TV Shows from their iTunes store, but I disagree. First of all, I know many people with a DVR, and they do not record movies on it, and new releases are not available on TV anyway, so that eliminates the movie argument. TV shows are a little different though, if you are recording a current season of a show, you are obviously not going to buy the episodes on iTunes. However, imagine watching an episode of “The Office”, that you have recorded on your Apple TV, as your watching the episode, a small but noticeable, notification pops up on the bottom of your screen recommending movies that some of “The Office” cast members have starred in. Maybe another notification pops up towards the end of the show, recommending the complete first season of “The Office”, and both of the notifications provide you with an iTunes link to purchase both. The Apple TV could actually help increase sales on the iTunes store. This method can be applied to almost anything being shown on the screen. If your watching live TV, and a commercial for “The Dark Knight” DVD plays, it can provide a link to download the movie, or how about those famous “there’s an app for that” commercials, how nice would it be to have a direct iTunes link to all of the apps shown in that commercial. How many times have you watched a TV show or a movie, and music is playing in one of the scenes, and you wish you knew the name of the song so you could download it. Apple TV would not only be able to tell you what song is playing, but it could provide you with an option to start downloading the song in the background, while you continue to watch the show. This should be Apple TV’s main focus, TV!

Now Apple TV is almost becoming a must have gadget, but its still missing something. It has the ability to store all of your downloaded music, movies, TV shows, applications, and recorded TV. What would be even better than being able to access all of that on your home network? How about being able to access all of your media from anywhere that you have an Internet connection. Remote viewing is the final feature that would make Apple TV a must have product. Imagine logging in to iTunes on your laptop from a hotel, and being able to watch that episode of your favorite show that you recorded last night. Imagine being at an airport and being able to access your Apple TV media from your iPhone. This technology is already available with the use of a Sling Box, and the Sling Player iPhone application, but integrating it with the Apple TV would make it amazing.

The Apple TV is a good gadget that some people might want. Adding a few features that focus on the TV part could really make the Apple TV a great gadget that everyone will need. DVRs are more accessible now, almost every cable company offers them for a low monthly fee, Apple should capitalize on the increasing need for this technology. In a couple of years, almost everyone is going to have a DVR; Apple should use this to their advantage by integrating iTunes into an Apple TV DVR. Using a notification and background downloading feature, this might actually help increase iTunes sales, not to mention the fact that you would be able to access all your media, as well as live TV from virtually anywhere, the Apple TV would become a must have gadget.

We all know that you don’t buy your iTunes Music! You get them by using GetTube, LimeWire, Frostwire, other friend’s iPods. But when you use the previous stated sources, you don’t get the ‘bells and whistle’s’; Most importantly, the album artwork is missing, thus coverflow is not being used to its fullest potential, for there are a bunch of blank album covers missing. Well with this killer App for Mac OS X (even Snow Leopard) this problem is a thing of the past. This app does a great job at finding your Album Art work for ALL songs, correct song information and even concerts in your area. While this App is not free, I have been in contact with the developers a TuneUp for some possible codes to giveaway to some of our lucky subscribers.
